Clay Stain Removal

Any tennis player will tell you that red clay spots and clay stains are among some of the most frustrating stains to remove from clothing. Once the stain has reached the fabric it seems like nothing will remove it. In fact, any type of clay stain can be a real pain, especially when they dry on your clothing and the clay sets. But have no fear as Vanish Napisan is on hand to help! Just follow the tips below and your clothes will be back to normal in no time.

HOW TO REMOVE CLAY STAINS

To help remove clay stains, we recommend using Vanish Napisan Oxi Action Gel or Vanish Napisan Oxi Action Powder:

Vanish Napisan Oxi Action Gel

Apply the gel directly onto the stain, wait 5 minutes and wash normally adding one dose (60ml) of Vanish Oxi Action Gel to your wash.

Important:  Always follow the usage instructions on the Vanish packaging. Do not use on wool, silk or leather. Do not pour the product on any metallic parts of the garment (eg. buttons and zippers)

Vanish Napisan Oxi Action Powder

Soaking is recommended for tough stains: Dissolve 1/2 a scoop of Vanish Napisan Oxi Action Powder in 7L of warm water (max 40°) and soak the stained item. For both coloured fabrics and whites soak for a minimum of 2 hours. Then rinse thoroughly or wash as usual with your detergent.

Important:  Always follow the usage instructions on the Vanish packaging. Do not use on wool, silk or leather. Do not soak metal buttons and zippers.

Removing Clay Stains - Handy Tips

If you don't have a Vanish stain removal product on hand then don't worry. We're still able to provide some handy hints on removing stains. Vanish will help you remove the stains even once they have dried-in.

  • Remove dried clay with a dull knife or a spoon (or go outside and give the garment a shake). You may find you can remove material from both sides of the fabric.
  • Wet the item under cold water and rub the remains of the stain, then leave it to dry.
  • Then when you have Vanish, follow the instructions above to completely remove the stain.
