1. General Questions
How do I check if a garment is colourfast?
It is important to check if the garment is colourfast before using any product in the NapiSan range. The best way to do this is by testing a hidden part of the garment with your NapiSan product of choice and leave for at least 2 hours. After this time check if the area has lost any colour and if so, the dyes used are not colourfast. Do not use any NapiSan product on garments that are not colourfast.

Do I need to wash with detergent when using NapiSan?
- When using NapiSan OxyAction Intelligence in the wash use with detergents for brilliant results
- When using NapiSan powder products as a soaker there is no need to wash with detergent after using NapiSan. However you should always rinse the item thoroughly following treatment.
- When using Napisan InWash Liquid you will need to add detergent, as it is designed to work in conjunction with detergent and will not work alone.

Are there any fabrics that I cannot use NapiSan powder and NapiSan InWash Liquid on?
We do not recommend using NapiSan powder on leather, silk, wool, chiffon, satin, embroidered garments or on any fabrics that do not use colourfast dyes. As with any product, we recommend performing a colourfast test on a hidden area of the fabric before using on a stained area.

Why has the stain not been removed?
Older stains or stains that have been previously washed, ironed or dried in sunlight may set and be more difficult to remove. It may take more than one application of NapiSan to treat particularly stubborn stains. Some stains like rust, bleach damage, dried paint, ink or dyes may be impossible to remove because they can alter the colour of the fabric itself.

2. Product/Format Differences
How is NapiSan powder different to NapiSan InWash Liquid?
NapiSan InWash Liquid is a liquid additive which you use in addition to your detergent in the main wash, to boost the cleaning performance and remove everyday stains in the wash. It can’t be used as a soaker or pretreater on its own. NapiSan OxyAction Intelligence can be used in the wash, as a soaker or pretreater. The activator and enzymes in NapiSan OxyAction Intelligence mean that it is more effective on a wider range of tough stains. NapiSan Plus and NapiSan BabyCare are designed to be used as soakers or pretreaters.

How is NapiSan OxyAction Intelligence different to other NapiSan powders?

- Made up as a paste to dial up the power for really tough stains
- Made up as a liquid as an on-the-spot treatment for spills and stains

As there are many variables involved in enviro cycle and septic systems (i.e. water usage, other product usage etc.) it is best to contact the manufacturer of your specific system. As it can be expensive to ‘reactivate’ such systems we recommend that you consult the manufacturer for advice on their particular system.
Can I store the made up solution? What about paste?
No, any left over solution should be disposed of either into the wash, or down the sink. Do not keep any leftover solution. It does deteriorate over time, and if stored in a closed container will give off gas which can rupture the container, leak or spill. Do not apply the paste for longer than 5 minutes, the paste will dry out and harden. Any remaining paste can be mixed with water and added to the wash.

This condition is called browning and it is caused by over-wetting carpets, either with a cleaning product or with water alone. It is the saturation of the carpet that may allow moisture to reach the carpet backing or even the underlay. This discolouration is not usually permanent, a professional cleaner should be able to remove the stains.
