- Can I replace my detergent with Vanish products?
No. You will need to continue using your regular detergent. Vanish products have been formulated for use alongside your detergent not to replace it.
- Can I clean wool or silk with Vanish?
Always follow the washing instructions on your garments. Only the Vanish NapiSan OxiAction Inwash Liquid Gel is suitable for inwash use on machine washable wool and machine washable silk fabrics.
- Will these products affect the colour of my wash?
It is perfectly safe to use Vanish on your white and coloured (as long as they are colourfast) clothes. If you have any doubts about using Vanish on any of your garments test a small area first.
- How can I check if a garment is colourfast?
It is important to check if the garment is colourfast before using any product in the Vanish range. The best way to do this is by testing a hidden part of the garment with your Vanish product of choice and leave for at least 2 hours. After this time check if the area has lost any of its colour and if so, the dyes are not colourfast. Do not use Vanish on garments that are not colourfast.
- Can I use my tumble drier after washing clothes with Vanish?
If you use Vanish NapiSan Oxi Action in your usual wash you can then place these items in the drier. (always follow the washing/drying instructions on your garments).
When using Vanish products as pretreaters or soakers always read and follow the washing instructions on the garment. Once washed a drier may be used. - Can I use bleach with Vanish products?
We do not recommend using bleach with Vanish products.
- What temperature should I use with Vanish products?
Vanish is suitable to use at all temperatures, even a cold wash.
- I have to wash many whites and hate how they become greyish with time. What can I do?
Use Vanish NapiSan OxiAction Crystal White powder. It leaves your whites free of stains and fights greying wash after wash.

If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. For advice, contact a Poisons Information Centre (phone Australia 13 11 26 or New Zealand 0800 764 766) or a doctor.
- What should I do if I get Vanish in the eyes?
For advice, contact a Poisons Information Centre (phone Australia 13 11 26 or New Zealand 0800 764 766) or a doctor. If in eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush eye continuously with running water. Continue flushing until advised to stop by the Poisons Information Centre or a doctor, or for at least 15 minutes. Contact a doctor if irritation persists.
